Abstract: 
Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are gaining a wide appeal.  Will these really change the landscape of higher education?  Can one use the best of virtual education and improve in-person instruction as well?  What will the classroom of the digital future look like, what will the textbook look like?  I will try to answer some of these questions based on 15 years of experience with virtual university courses.
